On-the-job training for rural Alaskans is the most important part of AMC's business plan. In partnership with Alaska Works, Alutiiq Manufacturing Contractors brings rural Alaskans to the AMC plant for training in the contruction trades – on the housing project for their community. In this way, workers return home and directly benefit their communities with the homes they created and skills they learned on the jobsite. Many of the trainees brought in to work on their housing projects become a part of AMC's core construction team and work on additional projects for other regions.
