Alaska Works Partnership, a statewide non-profit corporation, represents all of Alaska's building and construction trade unions and their federally registered apprenticeship and training programs. Alaska Works Partnership's Working Together for Jobs program reaches out to rural communities providing residents jobs and careers placing special emphasis on recruiting Alaska Natives and women for their programs.
Alaska Works Partnership supports the efforts of Alutiiq Manufacturing Contractors by providing a connection between the Port MacKenzie plant and other organizations. Alaska Works Partnership assists with recruitment, job placement, monitoring of apprenticeship and support services. The curriculum, on-the-job training, and support from the Alaska Building Trades unions and their apprenticeship programs are the same at the village, region or AMC plant. The goal of Working Together for Jobs is to develop partnerships with employers, local municipalities, housing authorities, village councils, school boards and others to increase local hire and provide jobs and career opportunities for rural Alaska residents.
